PRESIDENT

Jon Greiner is the founder and CEO of Basin Safety, owner of FlowCore Systems, a fluid system manufacturing and service provider and has started many small businesses in the area in both oil & gas and other sectors. Greiner’s industry experience with Schlumberger and smaller E&P companies jettisoned his career in the Oil & Gas industry and shaped his insights into how field level personnel and management teams can more effectively work together to achieve both higher safety standards and increased profitability.

He believes in getting more out of your team, your company and your career through effective communication rooted in respect and accountability.

ALEX STEPHENS

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Luke “Alex” Stephens formerly led the inspection and quality control team for Pratt Miller, focusing on GM racing. He brings a wealth of experience in managing large scale projects, and bringing people and cutting edge technology together to become the best in the world. As our Operations Director he is ready and dedicated to ensuring our customers are covered and their people are equipped to deliver excellence in health, safety, environmental and quality.

TODD ERICKSON

CHIEF CULTURAL OFFICER

Todd Erickson leads by example. He provides leadership skills and training to Basin Safety personnel, championing our culture and core values. He operates as coach, mentor, and works with our team to develop them into the most effective people they can be.

FIRE SAFETY / GAS DETECTION SUPERVISOR

John Melby came to Basin Safety as a retired business owner. His knowledge of management, construction and commitment to excellent service has led him to start two new service lines for Basin Safety, both fire suppression and ultrasonic cylinder inspection. John Melby is an excellent problem solver, and in our team’s words a world-class rock star.

BREATHING AIR SUPERVISOR

Mark Tengesdal is a third generation oilfield worker from Tioga, ND. His family farmed in North Central North Dakota for generations and he grew up around agriculture. He came to Basin Safety after working for KSI and completing 2 bible degrees and learning seven (7) languages. His people skills and attention to detail provide him with excellent experience to lead our service division.

CONTROLLER

Goran Misic started with Basin Safety in 2017. He graduated with an MBA from Michigan State University and is excellent in financial leadership and supply chain. He is a data centered person who can find a problem, and the solution to any sourcing problem you need.

AMANDA SMOGER

COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Amanda Smoger came to Basin Safety as a medical professional and lending expert. She is extremely detail oriented and dedicated to making sure that our customers have everything they need to be successful. She is excellent at communication and gives our customer’s the ability to hit the “easy’ button when it comes to strategy.

HSE TRAINER

Leah Seidel has a wealth of compliance experience. A graduate from Williston State College, she is a local who understands how to help and coach our industry. Her background in DOT management and attention to detail has helped her rise to be one of our most valuable team members. No task is too big or too small for Leah. Your personnel are in great hands with her coaching and helping them be excellent.

James Greiner began his career as a roustabout in Oil & Gas, but quickly transitioned to a career in the Armed Forces. Completing his career as an Airborne Ranger, he went on to become front-line security for Microsoft, Managing Smith Security in Detroit, and founding Night Hawk Security with three offices across the U.S. He began with Basin Safety in 2014 as the company quickly became a central figure in the HSE world of Oil and Gas in the Bakken.

Born in East Texas and raised in the heart of North Dakota’s oilfield landscape, Matt Bartenhagen has always been driven by a passion for technology. By the time he was in elementary school in Williston, he was already building custom PCs for local businesses. After earning a diploma in audio engineering in Nashville, he founded and operated a multimedia production company before returning home to apply his skills in oilfield manufacturing. Matt later transitioned into education, where he advanced from IT helpdesk support to Chief Technology Officer for the local school district. His journey reflects a lifelong commitment to problem-solving, innovation, and growth. At Basin Safety, Matt leads technology strategy and integration—bridging systems, people, and data to support safer, smarter operations across the industry.
